bubly Tube Park Opening Dates

The bubly Tube Park typically opens in mid-December and runs to mid-April. It is consistently advertised on that schedule, and in 2026 it finished on 19 April. It opens later than the ski lifts because it needs deep, shaped snow on the valley floor.

Where bubly Tube Park sits in the opening order

The bubly Tube Park sits in the Base II zone on Blackcomb, just above the Excalibur Gondola mid-station. Foot passengers ride the first stage of the Excalibur Gondola free to reach it.

It opens later than almost everything else at the resort, and the reason is construction rather than access. Tube lanes have to be built — banked, shaped and groomed into a deep base — which needs far more snow than simply opening a ski run. At roughly 700 m the valley floor is also the last part of the resort to accumulate that snow.

Mid-December is the standard target, which usually means it is running for the festive period.

What bubly Tube Park needs to open

Tube lanes need a deep, shaped base rather than just skiable cover, so the tube park is one of the last things at the resort to open. In a slow start it can be well into December before it runs.

If tubing is a fixed part of your trip plan, aim for late December onwards.

What to expect for 2026-27

Whistler Blackcomb has confirmed a target opening day of Friday 20 November 2026, conditions permitting.

Treat every date on this page as a planning window rather than a fixed commitment. Lift openings are decided on the morning, on the basis of snow depth, avalanche control work, wind and visibility.

When does bubly Tube Park close?

The tube park finished on 19 April 2026, closing about a month before Blackcomb’s ski season ended on 18 May. Like the beginner terrain at Base II, it loses its snow well before the alpine does.
