PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola Opening Dates
The PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola opens once both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains are running. When they open on the same day it runs from day one; when Blackcomb opens first, PEAK 2 PEAK waits. For 2026-27 both mountains are targeted for 20 November 2026, so it should run from opening day.
Where PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola sits in the opening order
PEAK 2 PEAK is the 4.4 km tricable gondola linking the Roundhouse on Whistler to Rendezvous on Blackcomb. It serves no terrain of its own — it is a connector, and the only reason it exists is dual-mountain access.
That is exactly what governs its opening. It cannot be useful until both mountains are running, so the resort holds it until the second mountain opens. In 2023-24 and 2024-25 both mountains opened together and PEAK 2 PEAK spun on day one. In 2025-26 Blackcomb opened on 21 November and Whistler on 26 November, and the gondola waited.

What PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola needs to open
PEAK 2 PEAK does not depend on snow. It depends on both mountains being open, and on wind. As a very high, very exposed span it is held for wind more often than most lifts, and it also closes for maintenance between the winter and summer seasons.
What to expect for 2026-27
Whistler Blackcomb has confirmed a target opening day of Friday 20 November 2026, conditions permitting.
Treat every date on this page as a planning window rather than a fixed commitment. Lift openings are decided on the morning, on the basis of snow depth, avalanche control work, wind and visibility.
